Portland Trail Blazers GM Joe Cronin shared that Damian Lillard’s exchange can happen after ‘months’ to be real in order for the Blazers to get as much as possible back for their franchise player.
“I think what I’ve learned is crucial in this business is that patience is the key,” the Portland general manager shared with the media. “Don’t be impulsive. Take your time with things just to first look to solve a problem. I think the franchises that have ended up in the most positive situations after trades have been the ones that have been really careful in taking their time and not rushing or the organizations that really kept their urgency according to their own time.”
“That’s why I decide to work that way in Portland. Our franchise is going to be patient; we’re going to do what’s best for our organization. We are willing to wait for the best-case scenario in the long term for us. And if it takes much time, it takes much time.”
Trail Blazers GM Joe Cronin said Monday that he will be patient in finding the best return for Portland as he seeks to trade Damian Lillard.
“We’re going to see how this lands. And if it takes months, it takes months.”
