Reece James has been sidelined for the rest of the season with hamstring injury, announced interim boss Frank Lampard.
The problem seems to have occurred in the midweek game against Real Madrid, where full-back has likely put a stress on his hamstring unknowingly.
“Reece had a hamstring injury in the midweek game,” said Lampard. “He got through it but then had a scan and he’s out.”
The other bad news for the London team is the absence of Mason Mount, who also seems on course to miss the remainder of the campaign with pelvic injury.
“Mason has been carrying a pelvic injury for a while. It predates myself and he has been trying typically but he will have minor surgery, then a four-week recovery.” Lampard said
“He [Mount] might make the last match but that’s unlikely, which is obviously disappointing for us.”
