The Blues' captain allegedly used improper language towards match officials

Reece James has been given a one-game ban and has received a £90,000 fine for his behavior in the tunnel following Chelsea’s loss to Aston Villa back in September.

After investigation, the defender admitted himself of using “improper, insulting and abusive words and behavior” towards a match official.

James was not part of the squad that day due to hamstring injury.

The FA said the 23-year-old had admitted the charge, and the written reasons would be published “at the earliest opportunity”.

Chelsea succumbed to their third League game loss that day, seeing a goal from Ollie Watkins seal their doom as the Blues were reduced to 10 man earlier.

The Stamford Bridge team is in a spot of bother having won only 2 of their opening 7 games under the new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
