The Chelsea’s captain limped off during their latest Premier League setback – a 2-0 loss to Everton – and has had a numerous assessments since then.
The 24-year-old has finally decided to undergo the procedure in order to heal the problem, which has plagued all of his career.
Given the timetable of his recovery, James could still make it for the English international team at 2024 Euros, but March friendlies against Brazil and Belgium seem unlikely.
The Blues contemplated for a long time before deciding whether James should go under the knife, but they seem to have settled the matter.
