German national team director Rudi Voller has urged his players they must put behind their miserable display in the 4-1 humiliation to Japan and focus on the upcoming game against France.
It was a devastating blow for the Mansschaft, which has severely increased the pressure on manager Hansi Flick, who has recorded only 4 wins in 17 games.
Voller did not hide his disappointment and he was adamant that the team must improve if they were to stand any chance against the World Cup finalists.
“Nobody should be afraid on Tuesday. The boys can do it, they all play for top clubs.”
“We all should take a good look at ourselves and then see what happens next. We would all do well to sleep on it tonight.”
“I just spoke to Hansi – he’s deeply affected. We’ll talk tomorrow about why that happened. That was an embarrassment.”
