The Norwegian player doubts he'll repeat 2022 results this year
The world number 5 Casper Ruud talked about his performances so far in the season as he admits things are not going according to plan. In 2023, Ruud won 5 of 11 games.
“The season, of course, is not going as we would like. I can’t say for sure if it’s because of the pre-season in February and the fact that I played all these exhibition matches with Nadal. We’ll never know.”
“I don’t think I will repeat the results of 2022, but it was not easy to plan the calendar because I played in the final and then the United Cup started very early. I couldn’t miss this tournament. My teammates relied on me and if I pulled out, they wouldn’t be able to play,” Ruud said.
