William Saliba shared that Arsenal’s Champions League preparations have not been extremely corrupted by the club’s travel troubles in reaching Lens.
The North London team were due to leave the English capital at 4.15 p.m. today but were almost 5 hours late leaving after bad weather in the U.K. delayed their flight to France.
The Gunners are set to play their 1st visit to the Champions League since 2017, but Saliba admits his teammates would get over fast with the problem with the flight.
Arsenal were forced to cancel their pre-game news conference. When asked during a phone call with journalists whether William thinks his teammates could play at the same level even without the problems, the French defender gave a positive answer.
Saliba added that they need to arrive 1st in Lens today, but tomorrow is a new day, and everything will be at the usual highest level, and he expects the Gunners to give their best vs. Lens.
🗣️| Mikel Arteta on William Saliba: “When you look how he’s developing, his role in the team, the level and consistency he’s shown in the last year or so, it’s remarkable.
“I don’t think you will find a lot of centre backs doing what he’s doing.
