Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali is about to receive a 10-month ban for illegal betting, Alfredo Pedulla reports on Tuesday. The Italian international was prosecuted for bets on his former team AC Milan and other football games and will be out for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
Tonali confessed on his bets and shared he struggles with gambling addiction, for which he already took actions and is getting the needed help. Newcastle already showed their full support for Tonali and said they will not end the contract, which was signed just three months ago, after signing him from AC Milan for a record-breaking fee for an Italian player.
