The Portuguese star left the pitch after Al Hilal game with an obscene gesture

A campaign has begun in Saudi Arabia for a punishment to be imposed on Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo for his obscene gesture to the crowd after the 2-0 loss to Al Hilal on Tuesday.

There have even been calls for his deportation on social media after he defiantly grabbed his groin as he left the field in response to jeering chants of “Messi! Messi!” from the home fans.

Lawyer Nouf bin Ahmed went further, announcing on Twitter that he would file a complaint with the Saudi prosecutor’s office against the Portuguese, whom he accused of criminally indecent behavior in a public place.

“It is considered a crime of public humiliation and includes arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner,” said the lawyer specializing in international law, who also posted the video of Ronaldo’s gesture.
