Seven people have been punished in connection to two separate incident, involving racist abuse towards Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr.
Four men have been fined €60,000 and given an additional 2-year stadium ban for hanging an effigy of Vinicius in January after Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid game.
The four men were released from prison on bail 11 days ago by the Madrid court.
Another three people were fined €5,000 and received a one-year stadium ban for making racist gestures at the Mestalla Stadium in a game between Real and Valencia on May 21.
Those three are between the ages of 18 and 21, as per police reports, and were detained two days after the game.
All this comes after a massive backlash, which saw the Spanish football Federation heavily scrutinised for its integrity. Vinicius even claimed that the league belonged to “racist people”, which put a further dent on its image.
