Spanish football federation chief Luis Rubiales “should resign” from his position after he kissed Spain player Jenni Hermoso, according to Yolanda Diaz.
The RFEF president apologized after the noise that the situation received for kissing on the lips Hermoso during the award ceremony after Spain won against England 1-0 and became Women’s World Cup champions.
The 2nd deputy prime minister shared that she didn’t believe Luis’s apology and that his actions can’t be excused.
“Our most resounding condemnation for what the whole world watched,” Yolanda shared about Rubiales’ situation on social media. It is what it is – a woman has been harassed and assaulted.
“The Spanish football federation president’s excuses can’t change anything. We need the sports law to be applied and the RFEF protocols to be activated. This person can’t keep his job as the president.”
