Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes needs to work on controlling his emotions and channeling them in the right way, says team manager Erik ten Hag.
Fernandes was heavily criticized for his performance on Sunday as Manchester United lost 7-0 away to Liverpool, the team’s heaviest defeat in nearly 100 years. Videos even left the impression that the midfielder asked to be subbed off in the middle of the second half.
“Sometimes he has to show more to control emotions… He has to find the balance”

“I think he showed he has a lot of character with his performance on Thursday. He led the team and was brilliant. His emotions are his weapon but sometimes they are too strong and he has to learn how to control them. Of course I try to help him and advise him. He has to find a balance between the right actions and his emotions. That will be the next step for him. I see a positive development in Bruno and when he gets that under control he will become an even better player”, Ten Hag stated.
