Jalen Hurts made all the headlines last season as he nearly led the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl victory, which eventually earned him a record-breaking contract.
Now, the 24-year-old is working harder than ever to emulate and top that feat for next season.
“Everybody aspires to be the best and works to be the best, but ultimately you have to find some separation,” he siad. “And that’s the thrill. There’s a thrill in not being satisfied and there’s a thrill in being on this journey, and I have embraced that..”
Hurts threw for 3,701 yards with 22 touchdowns and ran for 760 yards and 13 scores last campaign. He finished second in voting for AP NFL MVP and third for the Offensive Player of the Year award.
He was exceptional in the Super Bowl, throwing for 304 yards and one TD with 70 yards rushing and three scores.
All of that earned him a five-year contract extension worth $255 m, which at that point was the highest in NFL history, before Lamar Jackson broke it.
