Thomas Lemar has sustained an achilles tendon rupture and he will need surgery that will keep him out for long time, as some reports are saying around 6 months.
The French midfielder suffered the injury against Valencia on Saturday and on Sunday Atletico Madrid confirmed the news in an official statement.
Lemar was carried out on a stretcher, in tears, just before the break. The club immediately communicated about a potential “serious injury to the Achilles tendon” , while awaiting additional examinations.
