The Toronto Blue Jays shared today that they signed a contract with shortstop Arjun Nimmala, their 1st round selection in this year’s draft.

The organization didn’t share details about the contract, but according to sources, the player will get 3 million dollars. The contract s slightly under the 3.7 million dollar slot value for Arjun.
Toronto picked Nimmala 20th overall at the 2023 MLB Draft at the beginning of the month, and he played at Rogers Centre a few days ago.
Arjun spent the last 4 campaigns playing at Strawberry Crest High School in Dover, Fla., close to the Tampa area where he spent his childhood.
Nimmala ended the 2023 campaign with 35 strikes, 29 runs batted in, and an on-base plus slugging of 1.477 in 25 matches.
In 77 career high school matches, Arjun struck .382 with 9 homers and 34 extra-base strikes.
