Spurs secured the title in the tournament with a victory against the Red Devils.

Tottenham did it and won a trophy again after years without lifting anything as they defeated Manchester United 1-0 at the Europa League final in Bilbao, and also qualified for the Champions League next season.

Ange Postecoglou claimed 8 months ago that he always wins a trophy in his 2nd season, and he fulfilled his promise.

The final was not very attractive in the opening minutes, as it was clear that both teams decided not to take any risks.

However, everything changed in the final minutes of the regular time of the 1st half when Spurs scored. Pape Matar Sarr secured the ball into the Red Devils’ box and Brennan Johnson netted into the bottom left corner as Onana failed to save his shot and the North London team had the advantage after the 1st 45 minutes of the match in Bilbao.

That was the 4th time this season that Tottenham scored the 1st goal against Manchester United.

The Red Devils dominated in the 2nd half and had a golden chance to tie the result in the 69th minute, but Micky van de Ven denied it as he stopped the ball from going into the Spurs’ net.

After that, Amorim’s side had another 2 chances to score within 2 minutes as Bruno Fernandes’ header went wide of the right post. After that, Alejandro Garnacho’s shot was denied by Guglielmo Vicario.

In the last minute of the extra time, Vicario saved Luke Shaw’s header, and that meant that the Spurs would win the title and bring a lot of joy to their fans who had waited so long to see their team with a trophy.
