UEFA executives are working on optimizing the world’s most popular competition and create the best economic conditions.
As is known, from the 2023/24 season the number of participants will increase from 32 to 36, and the new competition system will bring as many as 64 more matches. All this will also be reflected in the higher income from television rights.
“Yes, we have started working on TV rights revenue projections for the period 2024-2027,” said competition director Giorgio Marchetti. “We expect the Champions League to be sold for an amount of 4.6 to 4,8 billion euros,” he added.
This is a major increase over the current revenue of 3,035 billion euros and almost four times the revenue of a decade ago (1,324,000,000).
