Manchester United are seriously concerned that Raphael Varane could miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury, Daily Mail reports on Sunday.
The defender suffered an injury in the first half of the match against Sevilla in the 1/4-finals of the Europa League and was replaced at the break. He has had serious swelling ever since and it was only after it normalized he underwent a scan and other further tests which indicated that he would most likely miss around six weeks.
This practically means that Varane will hardly play any more until the end of this season for the Red Devils.
It is yet another blow to Manchester United’s ambitions after it emerged just a few days ago that his centre-back partner Lisandro Martinez will also be out until the summer.
