Max had a deal with Red Bull until 2028, but there have been rumors in the past few months about him joining Mercedes in this campaign.
The speculations were forged amid tensions at Red Bull earlier this campaign, which began from a probe into team principal Christian Horner over allegations of inappropriate behavior.
Mercedes chief Toto Wolff is looking for a Lewis Hamilton replacement, who will leave the team for Ferrari at the end of this campaign.
After the end of the Spanish GP, the prospect of Max switching teams was raised again, despite Mercedes’s boss sharing that no discussions were ongoing with the Dutch.
