The Villains had a 3-0 lead after the 1st half. Ollie Watkins netted the first 2 goals in the match in the 14th and 21st minute as Pervis Estupinan scored an own goal in the 26th minute for the 3-0 home side lead after the 1st 45 minutes.
Watkins secured his hattrick in the 65th minute when the result became 4-1 for Villa, and the forward assisted Jacob Ramsey, who scored for 5-1 in the 85th minute. Douglas Luiz scored the last goal in the clash in the 97th minute to make the day for the Seagulls fans even worse.
Aston Villa is in 3rd place with 15 points after 7 matches, while Brighton is in 4th place with the same number of points after the same number of games but with a worse goal difference after today’s humiliation in Birmingham.
