The Lakers boss complemented the player for 'taking a bullet for the team'
Lakers’ coach Darvin Ham was full of praise for his former player Russell Westbrook for coming off the bench in the team’s run to the playoffs last season.
Ham gave the 34-year a special shoutout by praising him for “taking a bullet” for the Lakers by making the change and coming off the bench.
Westbrook move allowed plenty of opportunities for rotation and also gave chance to star player like LeBron James and Anthony Davis to rest.
Ham views that as one of the reasons Westbrook became so popular among fans as was evident from their constant chants “MVP”. The guard came to the rescue on multiple occasions and eventually led Lakers to the playoffs, where they fell short to the eventual winners the Nuggets.
