Wilt Chamberlain worn jersey is expected to be sold for more than four million dollars, Sotheby’s auction house announced.
The jersey in question was worn by Chamberlain during Game 5 of the 1972 NBA Finals. Back then Los Angeles Lakers beat the New York Knicks 4-1, and Chamberlain, who was playing with a broken arm, finished the game with 24 points and 29 rebounds, winning the Finals MVP award as well.
Bidding for the precious relic will take place online from August 28 to September 27, Sotheby’s said.

In June of this year, another Chamberlain kit was sold for $1.79 million. It was from his 1959/60 NBA rookie season when he played for the Philadelphia Warriors.
Wilt Chamberlain died in 1999 at the age of 63, but still holds a bunch of NBA records to this day. The biggest is the one for the most points in one game. On March 2, 1962, he scored 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors’ 169-147 victory over the New York Knicks.
