Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is reportedly seeking a position with the French national team, according to RMC Sport. The 51-year-old coach is willing to wait for the coaching role currently held by Didier Deschamps to become available with the national team.
On January 26, it was reported that Zidane had turned down an offer from the Algerian Football Federation.
Zidane’s most recent coaching stint was with Real Madrid, from which he departed in the summer of 2021. Under his guidance, the Madrid club won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup twice, secured the UEFA Champions League three times, and claimed the UEFA Super Cup twice.
There were rumors that Juventus may try to get him on their bench, as he played for the Torino side for five years between 1996 and 2001, but as of now this is highly unlikely.
