AC Milan star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said multiple times that he will play until he feels like he can’t do it anymore and after his latest injury it seems like the end is near for the Swedish veteran.
Ibrahimovic, 41, recovered from an ASL operation that he had after the end of last season and returned to action in the beginning of 2023. He was even called-up for the Swedish national team, but got injured while on international duty and was out for couple of weeks.

He was finally called-up for Milan’s Lecce game last weekend and it even looked like he will come on the field towards the end of the game, but during his warm-up he felt pain in his calf and returned to the bench shaking his head in disbelief. Further tests showed that the problem is serious and he may be out until the end of the season. At the same time Milan management doesn’t plan to offer him new 12-month contract and the Swede may end up being a free agent after June this year.
It will be up to him to decide weather he will continue playing in another team or finally call it a day and finish his amazing career.
