Kirk Cousins and Michael Penix Jr. got in touch after the Atlanta Falcons selected the quarterback with the 8th overall selection at the 2024 NFL Draft.
Michael, who led the Washington Huskies to the national championship match in the past campaign, shared that Kirk reached out to him and the 2 QBs had a “very good conversation.”

“I’m going to keep it private at the moment,” Penix shared with the media today when asked what they talked about with Cousins. “But without a doubt, it was a good talk, and I’m super happy to work with him, and he claimed he’s the same with me.”
Atlanta inked Kirk in March to a 4-year, 180 million dollar deal that features 100 million dollars guaranteed. Falcons’ decision to select a QB with its top-10 selection surprised everyone, including the veteran quarterback. Kirk didn’t know that the franchise would select a QB until they called him while the organization was on the clock during the draft.
