10-man Leverkusen hold Kaiserslautern to win DFB Pokal

Bayer Leverkusen defeated 2^nd tier side Kaiserslautern 1-0 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin to do a Deutsch double. Xabi Alonso’s players held the victory with 1 fewer player on the pitch since the end of the 1^st half to win the trophy.

Granit Xhaka scored the only goal in the match in the 16^th minute as the ex-Arsenal player won his 2^nd trophy in a matter of several weeks after leaving the Gunners in the past summer. Odilon Kossounou received his 2^nd yellow card in the 44^th minute and left Leverkusen with 10 men on the pitch but despite that, Bayer held the 1-goal lead until the end and triumphed with the DFB Pokal after winning the Bundesliga earlier this month.
