The Philadelphia team on a season high after achieving 8th successive victory

Philadelphia 76ers defeated Indiana Pacers in a commanding fashion 141-121 on Saturday night.

Even though the 76ers got off to a sloppy start, trailing by 8 points in the first period, they showed true class afterwards and were leading by approximately 20 points throughout the remainder of the match.

Joel Embiid continied his impressive streak by scoring 31 points and provided 7 assists in addition to 7 rebounds. This is Embiid’s 9th consecutive outing, where he has managed to reach the 30-point mark, which surpasses the achievement of Philadelphia legends Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain (both on 8).

“Embiid is right now probably the (NBA) MVP with what their team is doing and how he’s just elevated his game,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said.

“He’s as a difficult a guy to plan for as there is in the game. He had 31 points and made it look like he wasn’t even trying to do it. He’s a walking cheat code.”

De’Anthony finished the match with 14 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds, as he was trying the most of the opportunity given to him in James Harden’s absence.

“I was really happy,” Sixers coach Doc Rivers said after the game.

“Everybody contributed. Joel at times was our point guard. He probably had 15 hockey assists, and that was just terrific. Low turnovers. Against a high-scoring team on the road, you had to do that.”

Aaron Nesmith scored 25 points for the Pacers, while Andrew Nembhard and Myles Turner both added another 20. It was a disappointing night for Indiana, who now drop to 6-4 in their last 10 games.

The Sixers host Chicago on Monday night, while the Pacers take on Charlotte Hornets.
