Philadelphia 76ers leader Paul George underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee at the beginning of the week to treat a problem he sustained during a workout in the past few days.
Paul will now start a rehab program and will be reevaluated prior to the beginning of the training camp in a month and a half.

The 76ers’ star, who is 35 years old, has dealt with a variety of problems in the past few seasons and played only 41 matches in the past campaign while dealing with groin, finger, and knee ailments. It’s the 5th time in 6 years the player has played fewer than 60 matches.
Paul also averaged just around 16 points – his lowest total in a decade by more than 5 points – before his campaign ended in the spring after he received injections for injuries.
The Philadelphia leader will begin his 2nd season of a 4-year, 212 million dollar deal he inked with the Sixers in the past summer.
The organization’s star Joel Embiid played fewer than 20 matches in the past campaign, and the 76ers finished the season with their lowest win total (24) since the 1994-95 season. Joel, Paul, and Tyrese Maxey played in just 15 matches together in the past campaign.
