Aaron Rodgers is officially returning to the NFL spotlight, this time in a new uniform. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the veteran quarterback has agreed to a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to join the team ahead of next week’s mandatory minicamp.

The move marks Rodgers’ third NFL team after long stints with the Green Bay Packers and a brief, injury-shortened tenure with the New York Jets.
The signing sets up a highly anticipated reunion in Week 8, when the Steelers will host the Packers on Sunday Night Football. It will be Rodgers’ first time facing his former team, a matchup that never came to pass during his time in New York.
For Packers quarterback Jordan Love, the game offers a symbolic moment—lining up against the man he once studied under.
“Playing against A-Rod would be something special,” Love said back in April. “He mentored me, I backed him up for three years. To go head-to-head now would be a cool and meaningful experience.”
