AC Milan star forward Rafael Leao i getting closer to renew his contract with the Rossoneri, Italian media reports.
The Portuguese is in talks with the Serie A champions for almost a year, but until now couldn’t find an agreement. The main problem is his debt to Sporting Lisbon of 16 million euros, part of which he wanted to be covered by Milan.
? @MatteMoretto: Rafael #Leao‘s renewal is close. He always wanted to stay at #ACMilan, but there was an economic problem and also about who manages his business. Recent contacts have been very positive. pic.twitter.com/EC3sEla82s

The management, however, did not agree as his problems with his home club are way before he came to Italy. Now it looks like the new deal will be signed as he will receive 7.5 million euros per year, making him the highest-paid player in the team by far. Next in line are Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer and Fikayo Tomori with season salaries around 4 million.
