The contract, which will start next campaign, will see the player earn almost 10 million dollars annually and finish after the 2031-32 campaign, became public on Sebastian’s 26th birthday.
“Aho has developed into 1 of the best 2-way centers in the game,” Carolina’s general manager announced. “Sebastian is a fantastic leader on and off the ice who sets the tone for our young core. We’re honored that he’s decided to stay in our organization for the next 8 years.”
The center made 8.5 million dollars per year with his previous contract, and he is the highest-paid player on Carolina’s squad.
Aho notched 36 goals in the past campaign, scoring at least 24 goals in 7 straight campaigns since he debuted for the franchise in 2016-17.
