Ajax-Feyenoord to be complete behind closed doors

The match between Ajax and Feyenoord, which was abandoned over the weekend will be resumed behind closed doors with no fans.

The decision comes after ugly scenes occurred at the Johan Cruyff Arena, when home supporters started to throw away flares and fireworks into the pitch.

The completion will be done at 14:00 local time and as a result Ajax’s game against FC Volendam has been postponed.

Ajax have made a statement that they disagree with the scheduled time as that would lead to severe fixtures congestion. They will try to seek legal actions.

“The competition and cup program is now being adjusted by the KNVB for four clubs due to the completion of an abandoned match. Not only the clubs, but also the supporters are victims of this,” Ajax said.

Volendam also expressed their disagreement with the decision and they will try to “investigate what the club’s rights are”.
