Carlos won in straight sets in the 1/16 final in Paris.

World number 1 Carlos Alcaraz eliminated Canadian world number 32 Denis Shapovalov by 3-0 sets, reaching the 1/8 finals at the Roland-Garros.

Alcaraz converted 2 break points from 7 available and won the 1st set 6-1 in only 36 minutes. The Spaniard was the better player in the 2nd set as the Canadian broke the world number 1 serve twice, but Alcaraz had 3 breaks and came back from 4-1 down to win 6-4.

Carlos finished the match 6-2 in the 3rd set as he broke his Canadian opponent’s serve 2 times and didn’t allow any break chances to Shapovalov.

Alcaraz will play in the next round of the French Open against world number 18 Lorenzo Musetti, who won against Cameron Norrie in straight sets earlier today.
