Purcell, who was a heavy underdog, shocked the fans and triumphed in the 1st set 6-4 after converting 1 break from 1 chance. The Spaniard also had 1 chance to break his opponent’s serve in the 1st set but missed it.
In the 2nd set, Carlos won 6-3 after this time, converting the only chance that he had to break Max’s serve, as the Australian had no chance to do that.
