Carlos survived in his 1st match at the Masters 1000 tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz, world number 1, won against world number 55, Jordan Thompson, 2-1 sets in a matchup from the 2nd round in Cincinnati.

The Spaniard won the 1st set 7-5 for almost 1 hour and a half. Alcaraz had 12 opportunities to break his opponent’s serve but converted 2, which was enough to win the set after allowing 1 break.

In the 2nd set, however, Thompson converted 2 breaks and allowed 1 break to triumph 6-4. In the deciding set, Alcaraz showed why he is the world number 1 and played his best tennis in the match. He converted 2 from 4 opportunities for a break and didn’t allow his Australian opponent any break chances.

In the 3rd round in the Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, USA, Carlos will play against Ugo Humbert or Tommy Paul.
