World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) on Tuesday night to set up a mouth-watering 1/2 final with Novak Djokovic.
The Spaniard established his dominance early on and blitzed his opponent in the first two sets. However, Tsitsipas showed a fair bit of resistance in the 3rd with the 5th-seeded Greek saving 5 match points in total, denying Alcaraz to clinch the match at 5-3 on his own serve.
That forced the set into a tie-break, where Tsitsipas kept Alcaraz honest as the Spaniard had to rely on a small break to maintain his lead. However, a cool nerves under pressure saw the world No.1 prevail and get past stubborn Tsitsipas.
SIMPLY. TOO. GOOD.
