World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz will play in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon for the first time in his career. Last year, then still a teenager, he was eliminated in the fourth round, but now he managed to overcome that phase beating Matteo Berretini – 3:6, 6:3, 6:3, 6: 3.
His next opponent will be Holger Rune, who knocked out Grigor Dimitrov earlier.

The 20-year-old Spaniard surprisingly lost the first set after losing his serve in the eighth game and thus trailed by 3:5, and then Berretini closed the part with his own serve.
Afterwards, he quickly switched the gears and broke his Italian opponent in the fourth game of the second part for 3:1, then leveled the sets after 6:3. That was repeated in the third set, but this time he broke in the third game and won again with 6:3.
The fourth part was significantly more interesting and both tennis players won their serves until 4:3 in favor of Alcaraz. Then he made a break for 5:3 and had no problem closing the set and the match.
