Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to be on the pitch in the Royal club’s next game, as they lost Dani Carvajal to injury. The news comes 7 days before Real Madrid are set to play against Liverpool in the UCL at Anfield, only 5 months after the defender left the Reds after being part of the club for 20 years.
Earlier today, Los Blancos revealed that Carvajal has had a knee procedure. The defender didn’t start against Barcelona on Sunday and felt problems when he entered from the bench.
Trent has been out since sustaining a hamstring problem at the beginning of the match against Marseille in the UCL in September, but was back on the squad for the El Clásico. However, the English player didn’t play in the 2-1 victory vs. Barca, but Xabi Alonso decided not to risk him.
Now that Dani is out for a long time, Trent is ready to help his team and is well enough to be on the pitch from the 1st minute in the upcoming match. That means that Alexander-Arnold could start for Los Blancos when they face Liverpool next month.
MARCA: With Carvajal sidelined for up to 3 months, Trent Alexander-Arnold has a big chance at Real Madrid.
The Englishman has yet to fully settle, having struggled with Xabi’s system and recent injuries, but this is his best opportunity to turn things around. 🏴 pic.twitter.com/6ss247ORYA
