Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez emerged victorious in his title defense against Jermell Charlo to remain undisputed super-middleweight champions.
The 33-year-old clinched the victory on points in a hard-fought match, which saw him retain his WBO, WBC, WBA and IBF belts at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The Mexican did manage to knock down his opponent in the 7th round en route to his 60th victory in 64 fights.
“I worked all the fight to go in the body,” said Canelo.
“Then I changed the punch and that’s what happened. We worked for that.”
“We know he’s a great fighter. He knows how to move in the ring and we worked that in the gym for three months.”
On the other hand, Charlo suffered only his 2nd loss in 38-match career career and was left bitterly disappointed with himself as he missed out on the chance to clinch the coveted titles.
“I just feel like I wasn’t me in there,” he said. “It’s boxing. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.”
“I’m proud of myself. He didn’t knock me out. He hit me with some hard shots.”
