Carlo Ancelotti would be the obvious candidate for the vacant managerial position for Brazil, according to the president of their football association.
Rumours of Ancelotti taking over Selecao have been a hot topic ever since former head-coach Tite parted ways with the Brazilians.
Ancelotti has consistently denied rumours linking him with the job and has always remained adamant that his interests lie solely in the Real Madrid manegerial position.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Brazilian FA president Ednaldo Rodrigues to link the Italian’s name with the position. Rodrigues has expressed his admiration towards Ancelotti and pointed out that many supporters share the same feelings towards the Italian.
“I really admire him for his honesty in the way he works and how constant his work is. He needs no introductions.” Rodrigues told Reuters.
“He is really a top coach who has several achievements and we hope he can have even more.”
“Ancelotti is not only the players’ favourite but it seems the fans’ too. Everywhere I go in Brazil, in every stadium, he is the first name the supporters ask me about.”
Ancelotti’s only experience of managing an international team is a brief spell with Italy in 1990’s.
