The forward notched 20 goals and gave 20 assists for the franchise in the past campaign, his 1st with the team.
Athanasiou had a 1-year, 3 million deal with Chicago for the 2022 season.
Andreas has notched 125 goals and given 111 assists In his NHL 459 matches career as he was part of the Chicago, Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers, and Los Angeles Kings. His career-high was 30 goals and 24 assists during 2017-18 as a Red Wings player.
The forward was drafted in the 4th round by Detroit back in 2012.
