Ex-world number 2 Anett Kontaveit will call it a career after Wimbledon because of back problems.

The Estonian tennis player (27) has lumbar disc degeneration and shared that because of that, she can’t train at full speed and be competitive in the WTA tour.
“Today I wanna share with the tennis world that I’m ending my career as a tennis player,” Anett uploads on Instagram. “It’s impossible to continue at the highest level in such an ambitious sport.”
Her best achievement in a Grand Slam was advancing to the Australian Open ¼ finals in 2020.
The Big Slam on the grass in London will begin on July 3rd.
