The 29-year-old was at it again as he helped his team en route to victory

The Los Angeles Angels came out on top against the New York Yankees 4-3 in a hard-fought match on Monday night.

Shohei Ohtani was once again the center of attention as the Angels man bagged his 35th homer of the season in the 7th inning to tie the game, while Michael Stefanic decided the game in the 10th with a sublime single to put the game beyond the Yankees.

Los Angeles were 3-1 behind when Ohtani hit a two-run drive off Michael King, before homering in a third straight game for the third time this season, topping his homer run record from last year. He had three hits, increasing his average to .306.

Meanwhile, the Yankees miserable run continues, as they now have lost 7 out of their last 9 games, including 3 out of 4 after the All-Star break. They are currently stuck last in the AL East.

Matt Thaiss also homered for the Angels, then was ejected by plate umpire John Tumpane after taking a called third strike in the ninth.

Oswaldo Cabrera then put the Yankees ahead 2-0 with a two-run, ground-rule double off Jimmy Herget that bounced on the warning track and over the wall in left-center.

But the New York team couldn’t held on to the lead and succumbed to yet another loss.
