Milwaukee Bucks leader Giannis Antetokounmpo left in the 2nd quarter of yesterday’s 118-106 defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a left groin strain. The Greek will undergo an MRI today, his boss Doc Rivers revealed after the match.
“Things didn’t look optimistic, I know that for sure,” the Bucks head coach claimed. “We will have more information in the upcoming hours.”
Doc shared Giannis began favoring his groin as early as the 1st quarter and grabbed his left groin several times before leaving the match. With almost 3 minutes until the end of the 1st half, the Greek superstar hobbled up the court on defense before committing a foul and heading toward his team’s locker room.
“Antetokounmpo grabbed it in the 1st quarter, and I asked him if he was alright, and he answered me that everything was alright,” Rivers revealed. “After that, I believe, he grabbed it again and again gave a positive answer about his condition. Then, the 3rd time when it happened, he left, but I think that he sustained the injury even before that.”
