Giannis Antetokounmpo is not happy with being defeated like this.
While the Greek superstar return to the court today at Madison Square Garden saw him maintain the form he was displaying before being sidelined in the last 4 matches with a groin problem, finishing with 30 points, 15 boards and 8 assists in 28 minutes, it was not enough to help Milwaukee Bucks to avoid 7th consecutive defeat as the New York Knicks beat them 118-109.
Bucks haven’t been defeated in 7 straight matches in the past 11 years, as that happened for the last time in Giannis’s rookie year, when Milwaukee finished 15-67. After the match, the Greek leader of the team urged his teammates to get their “competitive spirit” back and to start winning again.
“The team is the most important thing, and nobody should worry about their individual performance,” Giannis started. “The only thing that I want to see back is the winning mentality. The more we can win matches, the more everything will be fixed.”
The Bucks superstar also revealed that some of his teammates react negatively after missing shots, and that affects their game until the end of the match.
