Arcangelo got in first place at the top of the stretch and triumphed in the Belmont Stakes today, as Jena Antonucci is the 1st female trainer to get the victory in the race in its more than 150 years of history.

The favorite Forte finished 2nd, and Tapit Trice crossed the line 3rd.
“It’s all thanks to the horse,” claimed jockey Javier Castello, who triumphed in the Kentucky Derby with Mage and got this mount when that colt did not race in the Belmont. “This is an exceptional horse. I’m very delighted for Jena, you know, she’s a cheerful woman. She’s a good jockey.”
