The Saints stopped the leader Arsenal in London.

Last place Southampton led 3-1 in the 66th minute, but 2 goals from Arsenal within 2 minutes in the last 2 minutes of the regular time secured the point for the Gunners. That was 3rd straight draw for Arsenal in Premier League after failing to beat Liverpool and West Ham in their previous 2 matches.

Carlos Alcaraz scored after only 38 seconds after a big mistake from Aaron Ramsdale, who passed him the ball. To make it even worse for the leader, the Saints scored 2nd goal in the 14th minute. Theo Walcott netted in the bottom left corner after a phenomenal assist from Carlos Alcaraz, who passed the ball behind the defenders.

Gabriel Martinelli scored for the Gunners in the 20th minute to make it 2-1, but his team failed to equalize till the end of the first half.

When we expected a goal from the London team in the 2nd half, the Saints scored again. Armel Bella-Kotchap assisted after a corner to Duje Caleta-Car, who headed the ball into the net in front of the unbelieving fans at Emirates.

Martin Odegaard made it 2-3 in the 88th minute with a brilliant shot from the edge of the penalty box. Only 2 minutes later, Arsenal equalized when Bukayo Saka scored from a rebound after a corner to make it 3:3 in the 90th minute. The referee gave 8 minutes extra time, and in the 93rd minute, the Gunners almost made it 4-3, but Leandro Trossard shot hit the crossbar!

Mike Arteta’s team has 75 points after 32 games – 5 more than Man. City, but Pep Guardiola’s team played only 30 matches. The Saints remain in the last place with 24 points after 32 games.

Arsenal’s next game is against Manchester City on Wednesday at Etihad in a match that can decide the title. At the same time, Southampton hosts a direct opponent in the relegation battle – Bournemouth, on Thursday.
