The Gunners head coach, Mikel Arteta, has expressed his sympathy for Thomas Frank after he was dismissed by rivals Spurs today. Tottenham sit only 5 points ahead of the relegation zone in the EPL as they are still without a victory in the league this year, despite finishing 4th in the group phase of the UCL.
Thomas leaves the North London club as statistically the worst-ever head coach of a big-6 EPL team. Spurs are in real danger of being in the relegation zone battle as they didn’t win any of their last 8 Premier League games.
Arsenal manager Arteta was asked by the media about what he thinks about the sacking of the Spurs head coach:
“I always feel sad when a colleague loses his job because Frank is a fantastic manager. Thomas is a great man, and he proved that he can be successful in the Premier League. Unfortunately, sometimes the results dictate if we will be able to continue to do our job.”
Spurs are hoping to hire a new manager before the weekend’s north London derby at home vs. Arsenal.
