Fabio Fognini, world number 130, trashed world number 10, Felix Auger-Aliassime, 3-0 sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-3) for less than 2 hours and 20 minutes in the 1st round of the Roland-Garros.

The Canadian was the favorite, but he didn’t even win a single set. Auger-Aliassime broke his opponent’s serve once in the 1st set, twice in the 2nd, and once again in the 3rd set, but he lost all of them from the Italian without even reaching a tiebreak.
#10 Felix Auger-Aliassime is the first top 10 player to lose in the #RolandGarros men’s singles draw.
6-4, 6-4, 6-3 for Fabio Fognini, who can be and was very good.
Felix, though, clearly struggled to move. It’s been a nightmare season…

Felix and Fabio had only 1 match before the French Open, again on clay in Rio de Janeiro, where the Canadian won 2-0 sets in the 1st round. However, today 36-year-old Fognini dominated his younger opponent and definitely taught him a lesson.
25 – In the Open Era, Fabio Fognini is now the second Italian player to win 25 or more main draw matches in the men’s singles at Roland-Garros after Adriano Panatta. Flag.#RolandGarros | @rolandgarros @atptour @ATPMediaInfo pic.twitter.com/EnUibrKsQq
