Barcelona are keen to sign Thiago Alcantara

Barcelona are targeting a return for Thiago Alcantara to the Nou Camp, according to reports.

The Catalan giants have prepared a shortlist of five midfield stars which they will be trying to lure in their quest to bolster their squad.

Alcantara made his breakthrough in football in Barcelona, playing alongside current manager Xavi, before leaving for Bayern Munich in 2013.

He made 101 appearances for the Nou Camp team and with Bayern he managed to bag home 7 Bundesliga titles and a Champions League trophy before joining Liverpool in 2020.

However, recently the 31-year old has struggled with injuries and hasn’t featured since Februrary. In his absence Liverpool have managed to win only four out of their 10 games.

Adding Thiago to his squad, gives manager Xavi much brighter options in attacking midfielder as they will be targeting a Champions League glory next season.
